Spanish to English Bi-Literacy Transferability (SEBT) (K-6)

This institute has been carefully designed to effectively promote Spanish-to-English bi-literacy transfer. The institute includes:

  • Understand scientifically-based reading research in bilingual school contexts

  • Learn models of how to teach English literacy by harnessing students' Spanish language arts content that prepares students for the English literacy instruction

  • Use literacy assessments in both languages to plan reading interventions

  • Plan and practice instruction using a bi-literacy transfer approach
